Walker Works · Coffs Harbour, NSW
Web design in Coffs Harbour, where a site that just exists is no longer enough.
I’m AJ Walker. I am in Port Macquarie, a couple of hours south of you, and I will tell you that up front rather than pretend I am around the corner.
Coffs is big enough that everyone already has a website
Coffs Harbour is a city of about seventy-nine thousand people, and like the rest of this coast its biggest employers are health care, retail and construction. The difference between Coffs and the smaller towns south of here is simple: in Coffs, your competitors already have websites.
So merely having one buys you nothing. The site has to do a job the others are not doing — answer the question the customer actually has, in the first screen, without making them hunt. What do you charge. How soon can you come. Do you cover Sawtell, or Toormina, or up to Woolgoolga. Are you licensed and insured.
Most sites in this town answer none of that above the fold. That is the gap, and it does not cost more to fill it — it just takes someone willing to write plainly instead of writing “quality workmanship, competitive prices”.
No client logos on this page, and that is deliberate. Walker Works is new. I would rather say so than fill the page with stock photos and testimonials I wrote myself. The exact build and the exact price are below instead.
What it costs
- Three pages — Home, Services, Our Work
- Your phone number and an enquiry form on every one
- Written for your trade and your towns, not a template
- One round of changes, then seven days of free fixes after it goes live
- Live in 3–5 business days
- You own the code. The domain stays in your name.
Bigger operation? The Operator Starter runs $3,000–$12,000 + GST for a five to seven page build, and the tiers go up from there. It is all published on the pricing page — you can read the lot before you ring me.
What the three pages would actually say
Say you are a landscaper in Coffs, in a market where four or five others already have websites.
Home. The thing none of them will put in writing: a price range. “Most front yards we do land between X and Y.” It filters out the tyre-kickers and it makes the serious customer ring you first, because you are the only one who respected their time.
Services. Design, turf, retaining, irrigation, planting, maintenance. Each with what is included and what is not, so the quote holds no surprises.
Our Work. This is where you win Coffs. Ten jobs, before and after, suburb named on each — Sawtell, Toormina, Woolgoolga, Korora. Your competitors have three stock photos and the word “quality”. Ten real yards beats that comfortably.
Your domain goes in your name, against your ABN, from day one. Not mine. If you ever want someone else to look after the site, you take the domain and go — you do not have to ask me, and you do not have to buy it back.
How this works at two hours away
Coffs Harbour, Sawtell, Toormina, Boambee, Korora, Woolgoolga.
I am not going to promise I will pop in, because I would be lying. Coffs is a phone and video job, and it works perfectly well that way — the whole build is three pages, one round of changes and a week of fixes, and none of that needs me in your driveway. If the job is big enough to warrant the drive, I will make the drive.
If I am up a ladder or on a job I will call you back the same day. Or send the form and I will read it myself — there is nobody else here to read it.
