Walker Works · Wauchope, NSW
Web design in Wauchope, from twenty minutes down the road.
I’m AJ Walker, and I am in Port Macquarie — so Wauchope is a short run up the Oxley for me, not a name on a map I have never been to.
Wauchope is not Port Macquarie, and the website should not pretend it is
Wauchope sits inland on the Hastings, and it does a different job from the coast. It is a working town: trades, machinery, rural contractors, transport, timber, the businesses that service the hinterland out through Beechwood, Long Flat, Comboyne, Rollands Plains and Bago.
Your customers are not tourists deciding where to have lunch. They are locals and property owners who already half know who you are, and they are checking one thing before they ring — that you are real, that you are still going, and that the number works.
A website that does that job well is small, fast and plain. It does not need a slideshow. It needs to load on a bad signal out past Beechwood and put your number in front of them.
No client logos on this page, and that is deliberate. Walker Works is new. I would rather say so than fill the page with stock photos and testimonials I wrote myself. The exact build and the exact price are below instead.
What it costs
- Three pages — Home, Services, Our Work
- Your phone number and an enquiry form on every one
- Written for your trade and your towns, not a template
- One round of changes, then seven days of free fixes after it goes live
- Live in 3–5 business days
- You own the code. The domain stays in your name.
Bigger operation? The Operator Starter runs $3,000–$12,000 + GST for a five to seven page build, and the tiers go up from there. It is all published on the pricing page — you can read the lot before you ring me.
What the three pages would actually say
Say you run an excavation and earthmoving outfit out of Wauchope — a couple of machines, you and an operator.
Home. The machines you actually own, with sizes. Wet or dry hire. The area you travel. Whether you are insured and licensed, in writing. The number, big.
Services. Site cuts, driveways, trenching, dams, clearing, drainage — each one a short paragraph in the words a customer uses, not the words a website uses.
Our Work. Six photographs off your own phone with one line each saying what it was and where. Nothing sells earthmoving like a photo of a finished pad. You already have the photos sitting in your camera roll.
Your domain goes in your name, against your ABN, from day one. Not mine. If you ever want someone else to look after the site, you take the domain and go — you do not have to ask me, and you do not have to buy it back.
Where I go
Wauchope township, and out through Beechwood, Long Flat, Comboyne, Rollands Plains, Bago and the surrounding Hastings country.
I would rather come and see the job than email you a proposal. If that suits you, ring me and I will come up.
If I am up a ladder or on a job I will call you back the same day. Or send the form and I will read it myself — there is nobody else here to read it.
