Walker Works The Consultancy Built to Demonstrate Itself

The site you are reading. A premium B2B web build consultancy that rebranded from a previous name and needed a complete operator-class identity. Eight original pages were reframed from worldwide-only to dual positioning (worldwide AND across NSW), then six NSW regional service-area pages and five English-speaking-country pages were added with full international SEO compliance.

The challenge

Walker Works needed to BE the demonstration of what Walker Works builds for clients. A premium consultancy site that doesn't demonstrate operator-class editorial register on its own URL would have a credibility problem from the first page view. Additionally, the practice operates across both Australian regional markets (where face-to-face site visits make sense) and international markets (where everything runs via video call). The site had to present that dual positioning without confusing either audience. And given the practice charges $3K-$75K USD per engagement, every claim on the site had to be verifiable — including the pricing model, the GST treatment, the schedule, and the deliverable scope.

The approach

Six NSW regional service-area pages were built first — Mid-North Coast, Northern NSW + Gold Coast, Hunter + Central Coast, Sydney Metro, Greater Western Sydney, and South Coast + ACT. Each carried region-specific operator examples, suburb coverage, face-to-face vs video discovery framing, the four-tier pricing structure, and cross-links to the other five regions. Five English-speaking-country pages were then added — United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand — each with country-specific operator examples, key regional coverage, timezone offset note explaining the async working pattern, USD pricing with optional local-currency equivalent note, and cross-links to the other four countries. The homepage was restructured to add a NSW Service Areas section (six cards) and an International Service Areas section (five cards). Australian GST treatment was disclosed explicitly across nine AU-targeted pages: international operators pay the USD figure shown with no GST; Australian operators pay the equivalent AUD figure plus ten percent GST per ATO requirements. Inline AUD pricing was added under each USD tier price card across thirteen pages. The site received a full schema upgrade — hreflang international cluster across six pages, GeoCoordinates in LocalBusiness schema on every region and country page, BreadcrumbList on every page including the eight utility pages, WebSite with SearchAction plus Organization plus Person schema on the homepage, Person schema on the about page. RFC 9116 security.txt at /.well-known/security.txt and root. humans.txt at root. Robots.txt with explicit AI-bot allows for GPTBot, ClaudeBot, and Google-Extended.

Delivery and verification

The build progressed across multiple deploy iterations on the same day — v6.5, v6.6, v9, v10, v11 — each shipped as a verified preview zip first, then a production deploy zip after operator sign-off. The final v11 deploy was 150KB containing 19 HTML files plus sitemap with 42 hreflang xhtml alternate declarations plus enhanced robots.txt plus security.txt plus humans.txt. Every HTML file's closing tag integrity verified post-extract.

The result

Walker Works now occupies eleven dedicated geographic landing pages — six NSW regions plus five English-speaking countries — each indexed for the relevant geographic search intent. International search engines see the cluster correctly via hreflang. Australian regional searches surface the correct region page. The compliance layer (RFC 9116, transparent AI bot policy, structured data) signals technical competence to the operator-class prospects who scan for these details before engaging. The dual positioning is consistent across every surface: brand banner, footer, schema description, country pages, region pages.

Stack and components

Lora + Inter + JetBrains Mono variable fonts. Copper accent palette (#b8642e). Dual-type schema (ProfessionalService + LocalBusiness) on regional and country pages. Cloudflare Pages deployment. xhtml:link hreflang namespace in sitemap. Mobile-first responsive design. Self-hosted with no third-party dependencies.

A consultancy that demonstrates the deliverable on its own URL eliminates the credibility-trust step that competing consultancies have to bridge with case studies and testimonials. The site IS the case study.
