No marketing waffle. Real questions, real answers. If yours isn't here, ring the number at the top.
Fifteen minutes by phone or video call. You tell me about the operation and what's been bothering you on the digital side. I ask a few practical questions. If there's a fit, we book a longer discovery session. If there isn't, the call ends with a referral or a recommendation, not a sales pitch.
Yes. Fifteen minutes, no charge, no obligation. The discovery worksheet (the longer mapping session, 45 minutes) is also free and the document is yours regardless of whether you commission further work.
No. About a third of calls end with "this isn't the right fit, here's who to talk to instead." Walker Works exists for established operators whose digital side has fallen behind. If you're pre-revenue or looking for a monthly marketing retainer, the fit isn't there.
Depends on what's in front of you and what's in front of me. Typical lead time from quote-accepted to work-starting is one to three weeks. Bigger projects sometimes need longer if the discovery requires site visits or detailed scoping.
Tier 0 Operator Starter at $3,000-$12,000 USD. Single-site build, 5-7 pages, mobile-first editorial design, operator-class copy, SEO foundation. 2-4 weeks delivery. Designed for sole-operators, smaller regional businesses, or first-engagement work where a full Foundation tier isn't the right fit yet.
The tiers reflect four genuinely different scopes of work. Tier 0 Starter ($3K-$12K USD) is the entry point for smaller operators or first engagements. Tier 1 Foundation ($15K-$22K USD) is a serious single-site build for operators putting a proper face on their digital presence. Tier 2 Catalogue ($25K-$40K USD) is for operators with portfolios or catalogues — includes brand evolution. Tier 3 Digital Operating System ($45K-$75K+ USD) is a full systems wrap. Discovery worksheet sets which tier and where in the range your engagement sits.
Yes — across the US, UK, EU, Canada, New Zealand, Ireland, and anywhere with reliable internet. Discovery runs by video call, scope is documented in writing, payment flows through Stripe (international cards and bank transfers both supported), and source code transfers digitally on completion. International engagements price in USD. In-person discovery available where the project warrants the travel cost (built into the quote).
International engagements (US, UK, EU, Canada, NZ, Ireland, anywhere outside Australia) pay the USD figure shown on the pricing page — no GST. Australian engagements pay the equivalent AUD figure (USD converted at the current rate) plus 10% GST per ATO requirements — same scope, same deliverables, same staging logic. Stripe handles multi-currency settlement automatically.
Australian engagements: scope is finalised on the discovery worksheet, then quoted in AUD (USD converted at the current exchange rate) plus 10% GST added at invoice per ATO requirements. Stripe invoices issued in AUD, GST line-itemed separately, ABN displayed (Andrew Walker · operating as Walker Works). Standard 7-day payment terms unless otherwise agreed during scope. Staged payments for Tier 1 and above (50/50 split for Tier 1, 30/30/40 for Tier 2, scope-negotiated staging for Tier 3). All invoices are GST tax invoices compliant with ATO requirements — usable for your input tax credit claims.
No. I'm an independent contractor, not a business partner. Fees are scoped per engagement based on the work involved. They don't move with your revenue, profit, customer count, or anything else about how your business is going. That's a hard rule.
Standard pattern for defined projects: fifty per cent on engagement, balance on delivery. For larger multi-stage builds we split it across three milestones (30/30/40 or 30/40/30). Hourly consulting and half-day strategy sessions are invoiced after the session. All on standard fourteen-day terms.
No. Retainers create the wrong incentives — you start paying for time that may not produce work. Every engagement is scoped and quoted independently. If you want ongoing strategic support, we book it project-by-project or hour-by-hour.
For defined projects, yes — that's the default. Once the Discovery Worksheet is back, the quote document spells out scope and a fixed fee for the build. Hourly applies only to consulting time, half-day strategy sessions, and out-of-scope work that you choose to extend.
Full source code transfers to you on completion. No CMS platform tax, no monthly fee dependency, no vendor lock. You can hand the site to a different developer at any point, host it anywhere, modify it freely. The site is your asset, not mine.
You. From the moment full payment clears, every file, every asset, every account is yours. I don't retain ownership of any of it. I don't hold deliverables hostage for ongoing fees.
Hosting on Cloudflare Pages is free at your scale and you own the project. Domain registration is your direct cost (~$10-30 USD/year, registered in your name). Email hosting is separate (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, etc.) and your call. No hidden costs from me.
Yes. The site is plain HTML/CSS/JS. Anyone comfortable with a text editor can make changes. Or hand it to any web developer — they don't need to know anything proprietary to me. No CMS to learn, no platform to wrestle with.
You can, freely. Source code is yours. No vendor lock-in. The whole point of project-based engagements with full source transfer is that you're never trapped with one supplier.
Websites (single-file HTML or modern stack), brand evolutions, catalogue and portfolio architecture, conversion-tuned copywriting, SEO foundations, enquiry workflows, operational systems where the operation needs them. See the pricing page for the full tier breakdown.
I don't run social media management. I don't run paid ads as a service (I'll set them up; you or someone else runs them). I don't write blog content on retainer. I don't do video production. I don't do enterprise-level multi-team integrations.
I build SEO foundations into every site — schema markup, sitemaps, meta tags, internal linking, semantic HTML, page speed. For ongoing SEO content work, I'll point you to a specialist who does that as their main service.
Tier 0 Starter: 2-4 weeks from kickoff. Tier 1 Foundation: 4-6 weeks. Tier 2 Catalogue: 8-12 weeks. Tier 3 Digital Operating System: 12-20 weeks. Discovery worksheet sets exact timeline before the quote is finalised.
The site is yours. Future work is commissioned on the same project-based model — you call when you need something, I quote it, you decide whether to commission. No retainer, no ongoing fees, no surprise invoices.
For Port Macquarie and mid-north coast operators, yes — site visits and in-person discovery sessions are part of the model. For further-afield operators, we run discovery by video call and phone, and I'll travel if the project warrants it (built into the quote).
Email within one business day. Phone within a few hours during business hours (AEST, but I work flexibly with international clients). I don't hide behind an account manager — you call me directly.
Me. There's no team. One operator, all the work, direct accountability. The trade-off is honest — I take on a limited number of engagements at a time so I can do the work properly.
The discovery call exists partly to test that. If after the first call we both think it's not a fit, we don't proceed. No hard sell, no pressure. Better to find out at fifteen minutes than at week six.
